Rolling over, teething, kinda siting, & my new normal

(Pics of Theodore at the end)

I’m sorry I have been so silent as of late. I have been trying to get the grasp on being a stay at home mom. I have been trying to keep up with everyone else though as best I can.

Theodore is thriving! We are completely breastfed. No supplementing needed and no bottles (You give him a bottle and he has a hard time going back to the breast). As of today (23 weeks 5 days old) he weighs in at 18 pounds 11 ounces! He is a chunker. Though very few rolls but huge thighs!

Our little man is rolling over from tummy to back since about 3 months and just started rolling over from back to tummy 23weeks ago. Now when he is laid down on his back he immediately turns over to his tummy.

He is kinda sitting. He will support himself with his hands for small periods of time before falling over usually face planting at the same time.

When on his tummy he is trying to crawl but hasn’t realized he needs to lift his face when he tries to scoot his butt.

I’m really starting to get a grasp on being a stay at home mom. We have our little schedule. On Monday, Wednesday, Friday we got to stroller strides. Which is a work out regime with an instructor you do while your kiddo is in the stroller. It is wonderful and so hard. I am dying by the end but it feels good in a weird way. I really like it because I’m not comfortable with leaving Theodore at a gym daycare. That is one reason I wanted to be a sahm where I didn’t leave him in daycare setting.

On Wedneday we go to a breastfeeding support group. It has been so wonderful. My LC leads it and it is toally informal. Most women come there just to chill and talk. We usually get pizza from across the street. Kiddos are playing, moms are talking and it’s just so beautiful. I look forward to it every week.

Then, on Thursdays we go out to lunch (on daddy’s lunch break). Usually with his co-workers/our friends.

It’s so nice having things to do. Having a routine I know and expect every week. Once he gets a little older (can sit up unassisted well) we plan on adding in a reading time at the local library. And when he gets a bit bigger like 1 year + the local art museum has a once a month thing where they do a free art class for kiddos and the science museum has a class about science too.

I really like being a mom. It’s so wonderful. It is amazing the incredible amount of joy I feel when he learns to do something new. My heart feels like it will burst with pride and love.

I know I said while I was pregnant that I didn’t want another child but now that is all I want. I want a baby because it is such a rewarding purpose bringing a child into this world and we want Theodore to have a sibling. Right now we aren’t doing anything to prevent getting pregnant. I’ve had one cycle since giving birth (last month) and I’m still breastfeeding. We are kinda using the calendar method right now because I want to keep breastfeeding. I love it so much and would love for him to self wean. I definitely want him to breastfeed for a full year. Hopefully longer. But when you get pregnant while breastfeeding usually around the second trimester you milk supply drops and the third trimester it changes back to colostrum and many babies wean because they don’t like the taste. So.. We are kinda holding off until he gets a little older then we plan on “trying”. But I refuse to take Clomid. It really messed me up. It was terrible and I don’t want to do it again. I don’t think I could with having to take care of a little one. I was a complete mess!

So… There is an update! I will try and try to be better at posting more. I think my goal is to be once a week. If I am not someone needs to hold be accountable and be like post more!!!

So here is so pics of Theodore!

Thank you! After a very rocky first couple months where Jay and I were thinking “what have we gotten ourselves into” he has blossomed into such a good baby.
